Supporting Local Businesses In Dominical This Year

Shop with small and local businesses on your vacations this year in Dominical. Here we break down our list of Costa Rican owned businesses

Usually at this time of year we are writing our annual roundup of what’s new in Dominical for tourists to do in the coming summer season here in the South Pacific. However, we felt that this year it was important to turn our attention to local businesses that need your support the most, given the circumstances of the ongoing global pandemic.

Of course all small, local businesses here in Dominical are feeling the effects of the situation, ourselves included, and we would like to encourage everyone to buy small and local as much as possible if visiting Dominical for vacations this season. Below you can explore our list of Costa Rican owned businesses in Dominical that would be grateful to have your support this year.

SabaTico

This well curated store sells a collection of Costa Rican made artesanal bikinis, jewellery and souvenirs. When shopping here you’re not just supporting a local business but also makers from Costa Rica who hand make their products for a unique touch. Get something here for yourself to remember your time in Dominical or a cute gift to take home to someone special.

Cafe Ensueño

Tucked away in Dominical is Cafe Ensueno, a family run Costa Rican style soda. This small cafe serves up typical breakfast dishes like Gallo Pinto and at lunch they offer a tico favourite, Casados. If you’ve not tried typical local food in Costa Rica, head to this spot in Dominical where everything is cooked fresh to order. Our favourites here are the Mono Loco frozen banana and coffee smoothie and casado with chicken, onions and garlic.

Costa Rica Surf Camp

Right on the beach front in Dominical, Surf Camp offers surf lessons for all ages and abilities. It’s owned by a local who grew up right here in Domi. If you decide to have a surf lesson with these guys, don’t forget to stop by the shop to hook yourself up with some awesome surf apparel and anything else you might need for a session on the waves.

Dominical Sushi

If you need your sushi fix whilst in Domi, you can find it here. The sushi is rolled fresh to order and there’s plenty to choose from to suit everyone's taste. A firm favourite of ours is the Crunchy Roll, full of flavour and that crispy edge hits the spot after a day of flying.

Monkey Ride

Based out of Dominical Tour Information, Monkey Tours offers the best ATV tour in Dominical. The tour to Eco-Chantales Waterfall offers beautiful scenic views as your ride through the jungle off-road and awaiting you when you arrive to Eco-Chantales is a hidden gem of a waterfall tucked away in the valley behind Dominical.
