We’ve all travelled with our paragliders before and know it can feel like a big task to pack your glider, remember all the kit you might need and haul it halfway around the world. To make it easier for travelling pilots, you can find here our kit list for what you will need on a tour with Zion Paragliding or almost any paragliding trip abroad.

Paragliding Kit Necessities
Dual Band VHF Radio and charger
Optional Paragliding Kit
Vario or GPS and charger
For serious XC and comp pilots - Oudie N
For leisure Pilots - FlyTec Track
Tracking device - Zion’s choice is the Garmin Inreach Mini
In-flight pee system if flying XC or a long time
Hook knife
Spare line (to tie things on)
Anything else that is usually in your paragliding kit
Apparel and Optional Additional Items
The items here are recommendations to make your time flying more comfortable.
Lightweight Gloves - for flying in warmer climates like Costa Rica
Warm Gloves - for high altitude or long distance.
Buff or face protection from the sun
Sun Screen
Sun protective clothing
Warm down jacket or layers
Wind breaker jacket
Cap or sun hat
Water Container
Refillable water bottle (Up to 1 litre that will fit in your harness)
Or Water bladder/camel back - recommended for XC flying
GoPro or Action Camera
Small day backpack for personal items - ideally something that folds down into your harness when flying.
Other items to pack when you travel
Flip Flops/ Sandals
Choice of footwear for non-flying related activities
Swimwear
Clothing suitable for hot weather and cool weather - think layers
