TERMS AND CONDITIONS

PARAGLIDING COURSE(S), TOUR(S), CLINIC(S), TUITION, GUIDANCE, INSTRUCTION, SUPERVISION (PRIVATE OR GROUP)

The terms and conditions set out in this document are to ensure the safety of you, the student/pilot/individual, throughout a paragliding course(s), tour(s), tuition, guidance, instruction, supervision (private or group) or any other kind of paragliding activity and those associated with the sport of paragliding whilst under the instruction of Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees/representatives and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING, in an official or unofficial capacity.

All students and pilots participating in a course, tour or tuition with Zion Paragliding are required to sign a waiver of responsibility to participate in any course, tour or tuition. Students or pilots refusing to sign the waiver of responsibility will not be able to participate in any course or tuition with Zion Paragliding and are not entitled to any refund in part or in full. Prospective students and pilots joining a course, tour or tuition are able to request a copy of this waiver prior to booking a course, tour or tuition.

ZION PARAGLIDING retains the right to have the final decision in the interpretation of these terms and conditions.


Paragliding Course(s)

The term paragliding course(s) is interchangeable with the terms tour, clinic, tuition, supervision, guidance, private tuition, instruction or any other kind of communication between Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees/representatives and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING and the student/pilot/individual participating in the paragliding course or tour.

The terms and conditions are still valid when participating in any paragliding activity where Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees/representatives and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING communicate with the student/pilot/individual in any official or unofficial capacity.

When referencing paragliding course(s) or tours, this refers to any amount of time in which a student, pilot or individual will be under the supervision of ZION PARAGLIDING, Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides employees/representatives and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING in an official or unofficial capacity and whether formally agreed to or not. 

These terms and conditions remain valid whether the tuition is paid for in exchange for money or any other kind of goods and/or services, intended to be paid for or unpaid. 

Paragliding courses include the activities of paragliding, taking-off, landing and all other activities associated with the sport of paragliding, whether airborne or not.

Any of the items set out in our website or communicated in any other form, including but not limited to, email, text message, whatsapp message, phone call, whatsapp call, skype call, face to face and shared documents, of possible learnt skills or techniques are only to highlight the potential learning of each student/pilot/individual and is not guaranteed. What is learnt and how far students/pilots/individuals progress is dependent on their own ability and participation in the course.

The course and tour Itineraries set-out on the website or in any other shared communication are only to highlight the course/tour/tuition/guidance activities and are subject to change due to but not limited to the weather or any other factor affecting the ability to carry out the itinerary as planned.

Accommodation, Food and Drink

Courses and tours do not include airline flights to and from the location of the course where airline travel is necessary and accommodation and food (unless otherwise explicitly stated). It is the responsibility of the student/pilot/individual to correctly book their flights and arrive at the destination of the course or tour prior to the beginning of the course or tour.

For courses and tours that do not include accommodation, it is the responsibility of the student/pilot/individual to correctly book accommodation for the entire duration of the course and tour.

Food, drinks and water are not included in any courses or tour unless explicitly stated and is the responsibility of the student/pilot/individual to pay for and provide their own food, drinks and water.


Weather

Paragliding is a sport dependent on the weather and weather conditions and can only be safely done when the weather and weather conditions are suitable to safely paraglide.

Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees/representatives and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING have the final decision about the weather being deemed safe and suitable for paragliding and for the level and abilities of the student/pilot/individual (the level of the student/pilot/individual is according to Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING, disregarding the pilots assessment of their own level and abilities or any license that deems them as suitable for paragliding).

In the event that the weather or weather conditions are unsuitable for paragliding, alternative activities will be offered including ground based activities or theory based activities.

Alternatively, in the event the weather is unsuitable for paragliding at the current location, an alternative flying site that is suitable for paragliding will be chosen.

Should the weather prevent the activity or paragliding and those associated with it commencing, no refunds will be offered for the date(s)in part or in full that no paragliding has been carried out. 

Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees/representatives and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING may deem it unsafe and/or unsuitable to paraglide (for students/pilots/individuals or the entire group) whilst other paragliders, pilots, individuals and tandems (persons associated or unassociated with ZION PARAGLIDING) commence paragliding and/or any activities associated with it.

Licenses

Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING makes no guarantee of issuing a paragliding license as a result of undertaking a course or Tour with Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees/representatives and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING.

Licenses will be issued to students/pilots/individuals based on their abilities and meeting the necessary criteria


Equipment

Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees/representatives and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING do not loan, lend or rent equipment for paragliding or any equipment associated with the activity of paragliding.

It is the responsibility of the student/pilot/individual to provide safe, usable and certified paragliding equipment. This includes paragliding within the certified weight range of the paragliding equipment. 

Purchasing equipment from Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees/representatives and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING is deemed as the student/pilot/individual providing their own equipment.

Where ballast is needed Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees/representatives and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING will allow an amount of additional weight where the total weight of the paragliding kit is in accordance with FAI regulations for paragliding but not over the total certified weight range of the paraglider.

Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees/representatives and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING reserve the right to refuse participation in paragliding or any activities associated with it should they deem the equipment of the student/pilot/individual as unsafe. In this case no refund can be given in full or in part whether the course/tour/guidance/tuition has already begun or not.

The equipment required to participate in a paragliding course includes but is not limited to:

  • EN certified paraglider

  • Certified harness

  • Certified reserve parachute

  • Certified helmet

  • Radio with transmission and receiving capabilities

Where flights are being taken over water, Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING will provide necessary life vests when required by the local paragliding guidelines. Should there be an additional cost to provide such equipment, ZION PARAGLIDING reserves the right to pass this cost onto the student/pilot/individual.

Reserve parachutes must be repacked within one year of purchase (new) or every six months. Where a student/pilot/individual has not had their reserve parachute professionally repacked in this time frame ZION PARAGLIDING reserves the right to repack the reserve parachute for a fee of $40 (USD).

Should ZION PARAGLIDING re-pack the reserve parachute of a student/pilot/individual they do so with their professional knowledge and to the best of their ability. Should the reserve parachute subsequently be deployed successfully or unsuccessfully, ZION PARAGLIDING takes no responsibility for any incidents/accidents/injury(s)/death(s) occurring as a result of the deployment of the reserve parachute.


Insurance

Zion Susanno Loddby and/or the instructors/pilots/guides/employees/representatives and owners of ZION PARAGLIDING does not provide insurance in any capacity, in full or in part, including but not limited to personal, medical and third party to the student/pilot/individual or groups partaking in a paragliding course or tour.

It is the sole responsibility of the student/pilot/individual to have their own insurance with suitable coverage for medical, personal and third party liability when undertaking the activity of paragliding or activities associated with it.

It is a requirement of ZION PARAGLIDING that all students participating in a course, tour or instruciton with ZION PARAGLIDING have insurance covering medical up to the minimum amount of $1,000,000 USD and repatriation to their country of residence.

Students/pilots/individuals without insurance will not be able to take part in the course, tour or tuition until sufficient insurance coverage is purchased.

Where incorrect or no insurance coverage has been purchased, Zion Paragliding does not offer refunds in part or in full for any days of the course, tour or tuition where participation has not been allowed. Once the correct insurance is purchased and provided to Zion Paragliding the student/pilot/individual will be able to commence participation in the course, tour or tuition for the remaining days available. Should the local paragliding club or local regulations require insurance or the purchase of local insurance, it is the pilot’s responsibility to provide their own insurance and offer proof of coverage to an official or regulator of the local flying site and pay any fees for local insurance coverage as requested.

ZION PARAGLIDING will request to see your insurance certificate before the beginning of the course.

Payment

Courses, tours and tuition fees are payable to ZION PARAGLIDING by bank wire transfer or cash as means of payment for paragliding courses/tuition/guidance.

Payments by card, PayPal, Zelle and Venmo are subject to the local tax of an additional 13%.


Deposit

When booking a paragliding course/tuition/guidance with ZION PARAGLIDING a non-refundable deposit amount is payable to reserve your space.

Payments by card, PayPal, Zelle and Venmo are subject to the local tax of an additional 13%.


Full-Payment

The total amount of the paragliding course, tour or tuition can be paid on arrival to the the course, tour or tuition. Any remaining balance to pay is payable to ZION PARAGLIDING.

Payments by card, PayPal, Zelle and Venmo are subject to the local tax of an additional 13%.

Termination and Cancellation

Termination of Courses or Tours

Should the student/pilot/individual wish to terminate the remainder of the course, tour or tuition once the course has commenced, due to injury, sickness, pandemic, Covid-19 and variants of it or any other reason, as a result of paragliding and the activities associated with paragliding or not, no refund will be offered or given.

Cancellation of Courses or Tours Only

Should the student/pilot/individual wish to cancel their participation in the course, tour or tuition prior to the start for any reason including but not limited to personal accident, injury, pandemic, Covid-19 and variants of it no deposit amount is refundable. Where possible ZION PARAGLIDING will offer to transfer your deposit amount to another suitable course or tour for you.

In the event of ZION PARAGLIDING needing to cancel a course or tour or travel to the country of the course or tour is restricted by government measures in the event of but not limited to pandemic or war. Zion Paragliding will in the first instance transfer the deposits to a future course or tour of choice or offer a refund of the deposit minus a $80.00 admin fee per person.

Government measures that are in place or updated as a reasonable response to covid-19 or war, such as the requirement of a Covid-19 vaccine, Covid-19 test and passenger locator form are not deemed as restrictions to enter the country and ZION PARAGLIDING will not transfer deposits or issue refunds to those not meeting the entry requirements to the country who can no longer participate in the course. It is the responsibility of the course or tour participant to make sure they can enter the country the course or tour is held in and meet all entry requirements. Entry requirements shared by ZION PARAGLIDING are done so as a guideline and could be incorrect or false.


Refunds

Refunds will only be issued in the same method of original payment and in accordance with our terms and conditions or termination and cancellation.

ZION PARAGLIDING reserves the right to cover any costs when processing refunds such as but not limited to bank fees. This amount will be deducted from the total refund amount.
