Best Places To Eat in Dominical and Uvita

As locals to the Dominical area, we get asked a lot for recommendations of places to eat before and after our paragliding tours. Here, we’ve rounded up our favorite spots to eat and hang out.

Mama Toucans Deli, Dominical

Mama Toucans is the small organic market located at the entrance to Dominical and where our tandem tours leave from. They sell groceries, a selection of local artisanal products and you don’t want to miss their deli for great food to go or to grab a snack before your flight. We recommend trying the vegan tempeh spring rolls for a light lunch or as an appetizer. The BBQ chicken sandwich is also delicious if you’re feeling hungry. But the real star is the coconut ice-cream that comes in a selection of flavors to keep you cool when it’s hot outside.

Mono Congo, Dominical

This local cafe is serving up delicious plates, salad bowls and sweet treats from breakfast until late afternoon. You’ll probably catch us in here getting our morning coffee so we’re on top form for our morning flights. Our team favorites are the carrot cake (if you try anything this is it), the falafel bowl or typical breakfast plate with gallo pinto and all the local trimmings, brought to life with a modern twist.

Phat Noodle, Dominical

Serving up Thai inspired dishes, Phat Noodle is a great place to hang out for dinner after a day of flying adventures. Everything on the menu can be ordered at a spice level to suit your taste and we can’t forget to mention the fun cocktails they make to order. Pass us a passion fruit mojito please!

Sibu, Uvita

Located in the heart of Uvita, Sibu has a menu to suit all appetites. We suggest going for dinner once the heat of the day has cooled off. If you’re in the mood for a burger then this is the place to order one. Finish off your evening with real gelato from their shop next door.

Langosta Feliz, Matapalo

This traditional Costa Rican, seafood, restaurant is packed with locals any night of the week. It’s a little out of town from Dominical but it’s worth the drive to try some amazing seafood. The octopus is a firm favorite of our team but also the pescado empanizado (breaded fish) is delicious and a traditional way of cooking the catch of the day.
